| To
our Valued Customer
We are writing this letter to explain the recent
changes to the manufacturing and the installation codes affecting
all natural gas fired hot water tanks.
On July 1, 2004 water heater manufacturer could no longer produce
water heaters for the market place without the new vapor ignition
resistant system. Basically it is now a sealed combustion zone,
which makes it a much safer product. Cost of manufacturing these
tanks has risen.
On September 1, 2004, changes to the Ontario Building Code will
become effective which basically states that when you install a
water heater in the province of Ontario, it requires a tempering
or mixing valve so that you can ensure delivering a maximum water
temperature of 120' F (49'C). The only exceptions are direct lines
feeding either a dishwasher or clothes washer.
We are currently evaluating the extra cost of the material and labour
that these two changes bring to our market place. Rental and purchase
options are still available.
Thank you for taking time to read this letter.
Respectfully,
Clement Marchand
